September 4, 2004 After departing from the wedding bliss in the tiny village of Scauri, we continued south to Naples.  We stayed at the cheapest place we could find... we were backpacking after all... and stayed near the main train station.  Don't stay in this area unless you enjoy walking over dead rats in the middle of the night!  We used Naples mainly as a base ground to explore the Island of Capri and the fabulous ruins of Pompeii which lies in the shadows of Mt. Vesuvius.
